US-Russian Meeting Discussing Israel
AMERICA United and Russia seek to ensure Israel's security. This was conveyed by US President, Donald Trump, after negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, Monday (16/7).
"We have both spoken with Bibi (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu), and they will take a number of steps with Syria, which is related to Israel's security.The United States and Russia will cooperate on that," Trump told a news conference. with Putin after the meeting.
Meanwhile, Putin said Trump spent most of the time in Helsinki discussing Israel. They see a situation that is already conducive, and can seek cooperation associated with Syria.
During this time, the US and Russia have different attitudes on civil war that took place in Syria for eight years. But at this meeting, Trump expressed his desire to help the people of Syria based on humanitarian reasons.
"Our military (the United States and Russia) have been in better contacts, than our political leaders for years, and we have also a Syrian-related attitude."
Trump also stressed the importance of joint international pressure on Iran, which has been ally of Russia. While Putin admits to understanding Washington's opposition to an international nuclear deal with Iran, which Russia supports.
