Thierry Henry Decide Focus on Coaching

France and Arsenal striker Thierry Henry said Monday he will step down from his position as football watcher for British Sky Sport television to focus on his career as coach.

Henry, who works for Sky since 2015, is also assistant coach of the Belgian national team since 2016. He helped Roberto Martinez deliver De Rode Duivels to third place in the 2018 World Cup.

"For the last four years, I have had an amazing experience as a football coach," Henry said in his Instagram and Twitter account. "Those experiences have made me more confident about my ambitions as coach."

"Therefore, I decided to leave Sky Sport to spend more time on the field and concentrate on being a coach," he added. Henry earned his coach's license while coaching the Arsenal junior team before 2016 decided to focus on working at Sky Sport.

France's all-time top scorer was a member of Les Bleus squad who won the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 European Cup with Didier Deschamps who on Sunday (15/7) won the World Cup as France coach.
